PRIZE MONEY – Minimum of $8000.00 for KCBS payout – Last year the payout was raised to $11,000.00 by contest time
CAMPSITE AMENITIES – 50 X 50 size, 30 and 50 amp power, 110 volt power, water, cable and wi-fi at each site. Friday night campsite stay included in entry fee. Bethpage camp-resort charges for any night that the campsite is in use. Teams may choose to add Thursday and/or Saturday night stay for additional fee.
VA GRANDS CHAMPIONSHIP – The BBQ Gives Back Contest is pleased to host within the KCBS contest, the VA Grands. The contest is made up of Grand Champions or Reserve Grand Champions from sponsoring VA Contests in 2017. Each of the VA contests have paid into this separate prize fund. We are pleased to have all 14 VA State Championship Contests join together in supporting their respective grand champions.
MABA CUP FINALS – MABA will present awards to the top finishers from the teams in attendance that won their respective states MABA Cups. These 8 Grand Champions, or their runner ups, that attend our contest will be eligible for cash prizes paid out by MABA.

World Food Championships – Preferred Qualifier (paid entry fee and travel stipend) for KCBS GC and Automatic Qualifier (entry fee and travel money paid by team) for MABA Cup Finals winner and VA Grands winner
GIVING BACK to 2 organizations:
- The first is Team Thanksgiving food bank. One pork butt will be given to each team to cook, chop and turn in after judging is complete. We also ask for teams to donate one grocery bag of dry and/or canned goods if they are able. To see a list of requested items, please click on the GIVING BACK link above.
- The second is Operation BBQ Relief. Our contest will be making a monetary donation to OBR and anyone wishing to make a voluntary cash or check donation will be able to do so at the time of team check ins.
THURSDAY night social event for teams, judges and reps to participate in a friendly discussion about bbq related topics. Light snacks will be served.
FRIDAY night chili contest! $10.00 entry fee! All recipes allowed! People’s choice blind judging! Cash prize!
LODGING: Bethpage Camp-Resort has cottages on site which may be reserved and paid for by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Please DO NOT contact the campground directly as all reservations must be made by the contest organizer. Cottages have bedrooms, kitchens, living areas, bathrooms and showers and are within walking distance of the team sites. Cottages may be shared if interested.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to Bethpage Camp-Resort regulations, if there is anything such as a vehicle, trailer or cooking equipment, parked on a team campsite, then the $40.00 per night camp site fee MUST be paid. This fee would be in addition to the cost of cottage reservations. This means that if you pay for a cottage reservation and park anything on your team site, then you must also pay for the site fee. This camp site fee would be paid on the team entry fee form and/or the balance due payment form found on the welcome page of this website. 3 bedrooms with one queen bed, one double bed, one full pull out sofa, and two child sized bunk beds @ $120 per night/tax included
NOTE: Cottages require a $200.00 security deposit to Bethpage Camp-Resort upon arrival. This may be paid by individual in cash or by the camp-resort placing a hold on a credit card. This will be refunded once the checkout inspection is completed by the camp-resort staff. Holds on credit cards may take 3 – 4 days to be credited.
NOTE: Linens are NOT included. You may bring your own OR purchase a linen package for an added cost of $40.00 per bed.
NOTE: Cottage bedrooms are VERY small! However, they are very nice and convenient to the team sites.
